10 THINGS THAT INSPIRE PATRICK TO WRITE

images (97).jpg

When I get asked What inspires you to write”, I don’t always have a ready answer because inspirations don’t just flow through a single Channel. Inspiration is everywhere! The word itself came from a Latin phrase “inspirare” which means, “to inflame, to blow or to breathe into”. God is the ultimate inspiration and such inspiration that comes from within can only be a direct influence of God. Welcome to my few selection of things that inspire me to write!

1) My imagination

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/05_rocket.jpg?w=672

Imagination remains for me the greatest tool in drawing inspiration from. It forms a mental concept on people, objects, and places without the direct perception of the five senses. If you can imagine it, you can do it and if you can do it, you can be it and if you can be it, you can write it!

2) My laptop and my phone

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/521179503.jpg?w=672

Basically, I almost cannot do without my laptop and my phone since it puts me in the mood to work. Surfing the net in search of something new to read, new ideas to to put down. They serve as my “little companion” a source of inspiration to write.

3) A sharp mouthed pen and my diary

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/6482457

Again, pen to diary writing/jottings still gives me that inspiration for me neatly, especially when it’s a sharp-pointed pen and the diary is always with me, in case the need comes fast easily. By jotting down little day by day in my diaries, it just inspires me to write!

4) Solitude

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/solitude.jpg?w=672

Yes, I love the solitude! – Because inspiration thrives in solitude. For some people, an environment that is noisy and rough increase their writing creativity but it doesn’t always work for me.

For someone like me, I get most of writing inspiration around 2:00am-5:30am, at that time the environment is calm.

There are days when even the sight of one person is enough distraction. Hence, spending that alone time in isolation from everyone, physically and mentally, helps my writing since it gives me a better chance to think, reflect, and tap better from my environment to properly develop my writing ideas.

5) Art works

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/red_vineyards.jpg?w=672

Pictures generally have such mysterious way of inspiring one especially to write, perhaps, because the mind connects naturally and faster with visuals. Being a lover of artworks has hugely inspired my writing process. I try to discover what was in the mind of the artist behind the art piece. Hence, I step on newer and better ideas that I could put to good use in writing.

6) Meaningful conversations

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/meaningful-conversations.png?w=672

holding down meaningful conversations with people, keeps you up to date with their lives and the lives of those around, giving you a better viewpoint about life. Conversations that inspire are definitely a sure way of increasing your creativity to write.

7) The shower

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/26418-8ea7d6-37436-500x296.jpg?w=672

Whether it’s the singing in the shower, it’s still for me one of the best way of exploring our inner self. Most times, we do our best thinking in the shower and we just can’t explain it! Somewhere in between the feeling of the water dropping down our head and skin in that peaceful moment, a brand new idea is mostly born. And you almost cannot wait to jump out and develop this new found inspiration.

8) The Loo/toilet/restroom

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/ladyintheloo11.jpg?w=672

Never under-estimate the value of a good poop! Just as in a shower, we could find our inspiration too just by spending a good amount of reflective time alone on the toilet seat. One poop after another, the inspiration just shuffles in, somehow, you never know! You must find your inspiration somehow, even if it’s in a loo/toilet

9) Listening to cool music

https://patrickrealstories.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/29b5a49ef03c5bf27579383243b172a1.jpg?w=672

A good way I get my inspiration is by getting myself in a good and cool music. Mostly I get inspiration to write something after much view of my favorite music like ENYA COLLECTION OF MUSIC. Before sleeping I put up my playlist with ENYA COLLECTION. As I sleep or rest, my thought of writing something just comes up.

10) A good sleep

And when you cannot write, sleep! Just shut it all off and sleep! Sleep surely does inspire insight and it is one of the habits of truly creative people. Sleeping creates a calm atmosphere that lets you reach deep within your own thought. Sometimes, a good sleep lets that inspiration flow naturally!

These are just a selected few out of a wide range because inspiration for me is everywhere!

Where do you get your own inspiration from?

you just said the real truth and what is in you mind right now as i quote “”ALL OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED ARE SO TRUE TO ME AS WELL””. I love that from you.

You said the one that is the most important which is “God is my ultimate source of inspiration”. I believe that statement very well.

Because we have to think well. Those critical thinking and imagination comes directly from the creator of the universe himself which is GOD. I so much believe in your comment mrs jirah.

I hope you stop by and show more interest in my blog.

I love that little statement you just made now “I do them also, the shower, inside the bathroom, those places of isolation in a busy home”. You kind of saying something direct to me. I was thinking am the only person who does that.

You coming out to comment here about it, it shows you do some of them in my post. I love it when people speak about what they do and how they do it here on our blogger community.

I still love this remaining part of the comment again””helps you think and make your thoughts clear with sudden bouts of inspiration coming through my head””

It touches my heart also and i have experience that on a daily basis. when am upset i find myself in an isolated place in the house where i can”” helps myself think and make my thoughts clear with sudden bouts of inspiration coming through my head.””

lastly you just to wonderful to say that. I hope you come again and not only that we share ideas on how to to be inspired here on wordpress.

I so much love this statement you made as quoted from you””” My inspirations comes from my own experiences and life lessons, also from conversations with others.”””

Am a victim of such experience and life lesson. My life lesson is also what inspire me to write also. It give me such inspiration on what i write and what i post here on my blog.

Secondly, still in love with this your short phrase”””””also from conversations with others””””””

I believe that it is almost everybody way of getting inspired also.

For me i do not miss out good and meaning conversation with people whether old or young, from there i learn two or more things which add value to my life.

Lastly, this final statement didn’t just come out from your mind the moment you saw this post. I believe you have been touching people live around you and also giving them motivation.

I believe this is what you do on a daily basis as quoted from you”””” I want others to be motivated to become stronger and rise above life’s challenges””””””

  3. I agree with you Patrick when you said, “God is the ultimate inspiration and such inspiration that comes from within can only be a direct influence of God.” He really is the ultimate source of inspiration through His Word.

What inspires me alongside God’s Word is solitude and writing because it allows me to reflect on the thoughts I am having and even allow God to direct where I go in accordance with what I am planning to write for a blog post or just taking notes, if that makes sense.

Along with those 3 things, I think a good night’s sleep also helps collect your thoughts because it’s a time where your brain is trying to go through the information from the day and get rid of the things that aren’t important.

    1. Thanks for commenting on my post with such passion as a “God warrior”

Am just surprise you read it well. And you respond was lengthy.

I write in responds to your comment””””What inspires me alongside God’s Word is solitude and writing because it allows me to reflect on the thoughts I am having and even allow God to direct where I go in accordance with what I am planning to write for a blog post”””””””””

Solitude is one of the things that inspire me to write and i do not joke with in as much as i have that noiseless place in my house/home.

Who created those calm area or noiseless area. I know is GOD. So God is the ultimate in terms of inspiration.
Lastly, i love what you just said again, am so much interested in this one you just said now as i quote””””” I think a good night’s sleep also helps collect your thoughts because it’s a time where your brain is trying to go through the information from the day and get rid of the things that aren’t important””””
I believe 100% in this last phrase””” I think a good night’s sleep also helps collect your thoughts because it’s a time where your brain is trying to go through the information from the day and get rid of the things that aren’t important.””””””

If i do not sleep i feel disturbed and troubled.

      Again thanks for the commented.

    2. Patrick, I believe in sharing experiences and spreading awareness and imparting knowledge to the extent I can through my pen. Writing also helps me discover my true self and I feel that I am spending time with myself. It also helps me in recording my present part of me that had perceived life at the moment and when one day I read my article myself, it would be happy to find how my own self sounded back once upon a time.

  4. For me, when I travel, I get inspired by anything that I see outside of my window. Though I don’t travel much presently, but when I travel alone and I am not engaged in talking with someone else, then every thing that rub behinds in my window, inspires me no matter whether it is day or night.
Looking at the landscape from my train window silently and wondering whose house that maybe or what is happening in that distant village and profile of huge trees just inspires me a lot.

    1. Patrick, for me that is a very easy question. I write a Christian blog, so my goals are:

1.Teach, encourage and edify other believers
      2. Reach out to folks who might not believe.

I never really have thought of myself as a writer per se, but that writing is merely a tool for my real interests.

      Thanks for asking!

      Hi

CAN’T KEEP UP…BUT THANKS FOR THE “THANX”

I’ve had many many hundreds of thousands (even “zillions”) of comments on my various other WordPress blogs at https://craigsblogs.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/craigs-list-of-blogs-updated-sept-2011/
in recent years …true!). A few of my blogs went “balistically viral” a few years back and I got swamped with comments on my various blogs… so had to close them all off.

Obsessive or WHAT! Am really pleased you are enjoying my writings, as the reason I write is to share.

Though I’m rather “driven”, I still get really, really fatigued (there’s a few books there). So sorry can’t reply individually to all you good people scattered around the planet. As mentioned (stop repeating yourself, c – bad writing…otherwise the first signs of approaching senility!), I was unable to keep up with the comments and was spending entire days just on replies on my various blog pages, so had to close them off on all of my blogs, except for one or two of particular interest to me.

Sorry and hope you can understand.

  5. Patrick Sahib, thanks sharing wonderful thoughts. I get inspiration to write through interaction with any stranger or known fellow who shares his experiences, the environment in which I live, the social gatherings I attend, the childhood experiences I had, when I hear the mindless incidences which stir my inner being, about the bounties of our Creator, human psyche and actions thereof by different individuals at different times, our traditional festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas Day, Shiva Thoughts (Which I penned down a few days back); besides Love (Like Valentine Day), etc. Anything which I observe and read interests me and I sit to pen down. Recently, my first book titled: INNER THOUGHTS too has been published on all the general topics. Your write-ups have inspired me a lot. Thanks again and regards.
