WHAT DO YOU SEE IN TODAY’S CHURCH

                   

Today is another day, very sunny day right now. Its Sunday…I almost forget its Sunday….

I just came out of service thinking of what to write. For Some let go and make friends  and see new outfit, latest fashion, For some let go for going sake, for some let go to fulfill all righteousness  at least I went to church. Some go for serving God, but for Patrick am not too good in church.Am not the religious type. From my introduction above. I can now ask. What do you see in today’s church?

I ask a girl, what sermon was preach today? She was like. I didn’t hear what the pastor preached. Not going to be possible where all they do is snap chat, surf, chat and selfie taking in the church. This era of Christianity, where most phones have bible app. No bible again to go with to Church.
Am guilty of that also, the era where you pray through your phone in the church.

The era where you see club girls going to church to show off their body, if any real guy can take them out. The era in church where there is division,if you don’t belong to any group or society you will be neglected….

Some people go to church but ask them what the name of your pastor, some be like “What my business with name of the pastor”. These are the things we see in today church. You can go to church but not a Christian.
This era of today’s church where boys go to church to look for girlfriends all in the name of “she is my sister in the church”. Church were people come and sleep when the sermon is been preach but if its club/party. “You dance till dawn”.       

Ask someone today, did you go to church? The question is always yes, 80% are yes.
Check there life,is not worth than going to church, who are  you deceiving.

Church where you have to see men displaying their wealth. But ask them to help the church with donation, they will say the money is not there. But you ride three jeeps  and have 6 houses.

For now I have to drop my pen…..For the last time.

  1. So true. People are busy in their own lives .. beliefs are being destroyed now and then. Tho Christianity ranks worlds second largest religion. We still can’t say anything.. cause people are free to choose these things.. we have no rights to comment..

  2. I never visited one but sad to know this. A place where the heart visits to attain peace with mind with the Lord, continues to be unrest for materialistic and fantasy needs. But I believe there would be surely for many in the crowd who would be visiting the church for the its intended purpose.

Part of my post on People Watching (https://happymesshappiness.wordpress.com/2018/01/04/people-watching) mentioned about what I saw/observed in the church when me and my friends attended the mass some time last December. It seems to me that they don’t really go there to listen to the preaching. They go there to talk, chat, take selfies, nap, etc. It seems like a dating place even. These are some of the reasons why I stopped going to church since 2009. The visit to church last December was unplanned, and I wasn’t happy with what I’ve seen.

      I understand what you saying an what you saw, but its a race of our own. You do not have to check other people life to justifies yours.
      Its about human difference, some feel its good to do that in the church. But we have ours to answer.
      You stop going to church because of that which you saw was not a good decision.
      Except you have other reasons why you stopped going.
      I know you saw alot that time. Just try and go back and amend things ok.

      Dear JUST_ME
      Going to church and being a christian is the greatest gift of life.
      From your site i can see” happiness”.
      Just be happy,the only thing i want you to do is to advice them,
      Just tell them that what they are doing is not good. Finish. You have played your role. Just a simple sentence like this “””brother or sister, can i have a word with you”””” that is it ok..
      The rest you know what to discuss.

      • Hi! I didn’t mean to check other people’s lives in order to justify mine. Don’t get me wrong. What other people do with their lives is out of my control, it’s merely an observation. I wrote what I saw not to judge them. And yes, perhaps I’ll give it a try to go back to church again. And of course, yes, just be happy. And I am. 🙂

          When we observe something wrong, its our own right to tell the person sir/ma,this is not proper. But in the society we are nobody is ready to accept that him/her is wrong . Ok…

          Observation go a lot in telling the person what is wrong and write.

  8. First to begin with the church is not the building but (US) yes we as in the people! We are all members of his body, who? Christ Jesus! I know why I attend church and that’s to praise and worship him in spirit and in truth! To hear from him, to grow more closer to him! To be in his presence. May God be with us all in Jesus Name! He’s coming soon and we need to work out our INDIVIDUAL salvation/relationship with him instead of casting our eyes on the distractions and actions of men and put back our focus on him, before its too late! Let us walk as the wise and not as the unwise! Thanks for sharing God bless you! Xx

  9. I used to be at church everytime the doors opened. However a pastor turned out to be a monster behind a pulpit for me. (Not even at my* church). When I went to my* church for compassion they verbally stoned me. I see church as a money hungry business who’s too self involved to reach out to others. Nothing that I care to be a part of at this time.

  10. In today’s religion (all religion) I see hypocrisy, intolerance, etc.. a pastor once told me years ago “it’s what is in the heart that matters, not a name above a door”… I know plenty that walk through that door with nothing in their heart… not into religion here…

  11. I really don’t think it’s this era thing, these things have always been in existence.
    And should you actually feel guilty about having your bible on your phone, Christianity is also evolving as things are changing, the old way won’t work always.

  12. Love your written word.
    Religion is religion.
    LORD GOD G.O.D. is all that matters.
    Your gettin with G.O.D., Makes no difference how you get there.
    For myself, churches have always been about the money.
    Then again, they use that money to help the people.
    Either way, going to worship is never a bad thing.

  13. Sad. True. This, unfortunately, is the future. As a little girl, i went to church wiith my aunt. It was sheer bliss, the silence, excitement for the hymns. Smiles. Families praying together and staying together. When Pastor Tony met at as we left, we felt blessed. My aunt has since succumbed to cancer. Even now i feel, i hunger for those divine moments. I find a church and visit but it is not the same. Im emotional and sentimental.
    I fear for our children’S future.

  14. This is exactly why you need to find the right church for you. I used to be a person who would go to church just because it was expected of me, or when I became an adult – because I got used to it. But currently, I go for so much more. The priest is amazing, having always interesting things to say, the choir is heavenly, and the church goers actually seem interested in being there and not other things.

  27. Thanks for your reply. As for your question about that which I see in the church today, it is what I don’t see is the problem. There is a lack of deep teaching of God’s Word, coming from pulpits and in classes. As per being guilty of something, I am not involved in church leadership. It is my wish that those whom are responsible for leading congregations will get serious about their responsibilities of Ephesians 4:12.
